Capoeira, Afro-Brazilian dance, and music workshops and roda with special guest Mestre Omi, of Ilê de Palmares in New York.
Friday 2/14:
7-9pm: Traditional Angola & Contemporânea workshop
Saturday 2/15:
4-5:30pm: Afro-Bazilian Dance workshop
Sunday 2/16:
12-1:30pm: Capoeira workshop
1:30-3pm: Roda

Black History Month

Learn about and experience Capoeira's tradition of Black liberation at Axé Fest, our community day of FREE classes featuring Capoeira and its related art forms. Classes are open to kids and adults!
SCHEDULE:
1-2pm: Capoeira for Kids (ages 5-12). Parents must accompany kids
2-4pm: Performance & Intro to Capoeira Class & Roda for Adults & Teens
4-5pm: Afro-Brazilian Dance with special guest Mestre Omi

Celebrating the graduation of our youth students as they receive their first cord or their promotion to their next cord level.

The CapoeiraDC community will hold a community outing to the Anacostia River Festival, where they will provide a performance and free interactive class.
